Max Verstappen held off Charles Leclerc and claimed an impressive victory in the first-ever FORMULA 1 MIAMI GRAND PRIX.
The Oracle Red Bull Racing driver started third on the grid behind the two Scuderia Ferraris but a fantastic start saw him overtake Sainz in P2. Nine laps later, he overtook Leclerc and looked set for a dominant win. However a safety car intervened on Lap 41 and Verstappen had to be at his best to hold off the advancing Scuderia Ferrari of Leclerc. The Monagesque driver could not get past the Dutchman though and Verstappen held on to close the gap at the top of the Driver Standings to 29 points.
